emotional strings, woodwinds, odd time sigs and a piano. What’s not to like

okay so before listening to this, this song combined literally every single one of favourite music genre type stuff. Japanese shit, breakcore, orchestral AND 7/4 (goated time signature) this shits finna go hard

*listening now*

Okay so the first few mins dont have that irregular 7/4 feel at all, which is neither good nor bad. I personally like the asymmetric feel of irregular time sigs like 5/4 and 7/8, but because I’m a white person I also appreciate some symmetry. However, at around 3:40 I can definitely start to feel that irregularity, which meshes really well with the drums and synths and whatnot.

Sound choices are interesting. The flute thing is well orchestrated throughout the piece, and the drum breaks have some really nice pitching and variation. This piece kinda feels like what would play in the back rooms of a cartels hideout, nestled deep in Mount Fuji or something. Another small thing I’d like to point out is the lil vocal shops you incorporated, they add to the atmosphere very well.

All in all, nice work mate!

Anybody can make a name for themselves.
